Choose a book, record where you are, and set a daily goal. Your progress is stored in localStorage in this browser; it is not uploaded to a user account.
If the EPUB has no fixed print pagination, the tool starts with an estimated page count and lets you replace it with the page total shown by your own reader.

Reading time estimates are based on an average reading speed of about 230 words per minute. The catalog's median word count is 51,540, which translates to roughly 224 minutes of reading. These are estimates, not promises.
Books are grouped into four time categories: quick (under 2 hours), steady (2-4 hours), immersive (4-10 hours), and marathon (over 10 hours). You can filter to find a book that matches the time you have available.
36 books fit into a quick read, under two hours. Perfect for a short sitting.
12 books fall into the steady range, about 2-4 hours. Good for a few evenings.
35 books are immersive, taking 4-10 hours. These require a bit more dedication.
The Reading Tracker helps you manage your reading by recording progress in pages. You set a current page, a total page count, and a daily page goal. The tracker then estimates your remaining time and finish date. It is a simple, effective way to stay on track with longer books, and it works entirely in your browser without an account.
When you start a book, enter the current page (usually 1) and the total number of pages. If the catalog does not provide an exact page count, the tracker estimates it as the word count divided by 250 words per page. For example, In quest of the perfect book — Background and Themes (id 304) has about 61,206 words, so the estimated page count would be around 245 pages.
You can adjust the total page count to match your own edition or reading app. This flexibility ensures your progress tracking is accurate, regardless of the format. The daily page goal defaults to 20 pages, but you can change it to suit your reading speed and available time.
The tracker calculates estimated remaining time as the proportion of remaining pages to total pages, multiplied by the estimated total minutes. For In quest of the perfect book, with an estimated reading time of 267 minutes, if you have read 100 of 245 pages, you have about 158 minutes left. The estimated finish days are the remaining pages divided by your daily goal, rounded up.
With a 20-page daily goal, In quest of the perfect book would take about 13 days to finish from the start. If you increase your goal to 30 pages, you could finish in about 9 days. The tracker lets you experiment with different goals to find a pace that works for you.
The key to using the tracker effectively is consistency. By setting a realistic daily goal and recording your progress each time you read, you build a clear picture of your reading habits. The tracker stores your history locally, so you can review your progress over time and adjust your goals as needed.
For long books, such as the 109,000-word survey of women artists, the tracker breaks the task into manageable daily steps. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by the total length, you focus on reaching your daily page count. This method makes even the most substantial titles approachable, turning a marathon into a series of steady sprints.
